With government pressure for Practices to move to 100% bulk billing there may be an expectation from some patients that they should be bulk billed (because the Government has told them they will be).

Medicare Billing Compliance
Recent media reports have suggested a high level of provider non-compliance with Medicare billing.
This is not supported by the most recent review by the Australian National Audit Office, report number 17 of 2021/2021 Managing Heath Provider Compliance. The report can be found here
